These are textiles, from various parts of India, that have been decorated by hand using block-printing or resist-dye techniques or are ikat or other weaves.
The hand-loomed scarves in this section were purchased from weavers in the village of Phulia, near Calcutta, West Bengal.
These cruelty-free (vegan) silk shawls were made from wild silk cocoons harvested from the forest floor after the larvae had emerged as a moth. Produced by People for Animals, the largest animal welfare organization in India.
These scarves and stoles are hand-embroidered.
