Dogs are really not that dangerous
Tuesday, February 7, 2006 at 05:57PM An article in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch highlights the fact that you or your child are more likely to be killed by a baseball or Christmas tree than a dog. Dog bites, and fatal dog attacks, are very rare, but when they do happen they make headline news (like plane crashes, I should tell myself next time I fly). A new book, Dogs Bite: But Balloons and Slippers Are More Dangerous, hopes to dispel some of the irrational fear people have over dogs and, especially, certain breeds of dogs.
And on another note, it is amazing what one person can do. I hope this founder of the only donkey sanctuary in the Middle East can stick it out.
