Blog post on AAFL: Bangalore's War against Street Dogs

Bangalore_dogs_in_van1_small.jpgAs you can read in my travel blog, I visited Bangalore when I was in India in January. Just a few days earlier, a little girl had been fatally attacked by street dogs. Although this was, indeed, a tragic event, it was also a freak occurrence. Yet, the newspapers were carrying hysteria-inducing articles about "The Stray Dog Menace." My heart went out to the animal activists who were trying to combat this slander.

Now, two months later, it has turned into a battle. And the street dogs are losing. Several hundred have been killed. Others have been abused and displaced.
