Get 'em while they're young
Pet Helpers, an animal rescue and adoption organization in South Carolina, has created humane education lessons to incorporate into the science curriculum for kindergarten through fifth grade students. That way, even if adults view animals as objects or commodities, maybe the kids will grow up with more respect and concern for animals. Hope this idea is replicated in other school districts.
