Three sloth bears rescued by Wildlife SOS

bear.jpgI just got the latest newsletter from Wildlife S.O.S., the organization in India that is on a mission to rescue all of the dancing bears in India . According to the newsletter, on December 6th, three of India 's dancing bears, two females and one male, were surrendered to Wildlife S.O.S. by their owners. That brings the grand total to 348 bears rescued.

At various events the past couple of weeks, I have been selling jewelry to help raise funds for Wildlife S.O.S. (see previous post). And I’ve had the Wildlife S.O.S. brochure on my table. Many people didn’t know there was such a thing as a dancing bear, others had traveled and seen these poor creatures. Everyone who saw the photo of a sloth bear on the brochure remarked how cute they are. I hope I get to meet some of the rescued bears when I am in India in January.
